We begin a new year, together again, in the aftermath of some dizzyingly bizarre and disruptive times. We are being shaken on multiple fronts. So it struck me to reflect on what we’ve been through, I need to process things out loud. Where are we at? What is the moment in time we are living in and facing?
I always have as a role model in my mind the sons of Issachar from the book of 1 Chronicles chapter 12. Men who went out to the newly anointed king David when he was still a fugitive from king Saul hiding out in caves in the middle of nowhere sleeping on rocks. Among all of the talented and mighty men who are listed in signing up to follow king David, the sons of Issachar were said to be:
32 men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs, and all their kinsmen under their command.
None of them were looking for privileges. They were there to honor God, because God had chosen David as king. And honoring God by honoring the king was worth any sacrifice. Even though David was deeply flawed he was good, like maybe a few of our past leaders in the United States (remember Israel had very few as well). David was willing to eschew privileges, make sacrifices, and act in virtues such as courage and honor just like the men who came out to surround him. And not one of them was for sale.
The moment in time we are in right now is not the time to mince words or walk on eggshells. I know we are all tired of trying to figure out what is going behind all of the misinformation and gaslighting. Literally everything is currently being manipulated for political power and financial gain. There are conspiracy theories, because there are conspiracies, mostly in the unseen world using cooperative humans as pawns. Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood.
I’ll be candid, I have never voted for a Democrat in my life. To be totally honest, I haven’t voted “for” anyone at the federal level since the 2008 Republican primary. After that fiasco I was pretty much done with politics. I began to see how artificial and manipulated the process was by the collusion between the party and the media, Fox news in particular, at that time. Elections began to seem to me, to be nothing more than a mass reassurance ritual we participate in every 4 years to give us the false impression that what we think makes a difference. Each party, along with the media, carefully “selects” a handful of candidates we are allowed to “vote for”.
I would have voted for a Democrat candidate in 2016, Jim Webb, or Tulsi Gabbard in 2020, but neither of these candidates were allowed to get any traction. That’s also true of the Republican candidates I would vote for, Ron and Rand Paul. It’s too easy for me to see how the media controls the narrative away from anyone with any credibility and both parties promote corrupt and compromised candidates. Is that not obvious to you as well?
Think about it. In 2020, the pinnacle of woke social justice power, you had the perfect candidate. Tulsi Gabbard is a woman, also a minority, also having an extensive military service record, also beautiful and charismatic, she is authentic, intelligent, articulate and can stand up to and take down the likes of Hillary Clinton in a debate. I might not agree with all of her policies, but given what she brings to the table, I’ll live with them.
She was a candidate that could bring some unity and sanity to a heavily divided and confused nation. She was the perfect candidate to run against Donald Trump or at least be a running mate to the “selected elected” Democratic candidate.
But no, we “elect” an ancient fragile and clearly senile white man. A career politician who is clearly corrupt. The Democratic party feels the country is ready to move on from old white Christian men holding power, and they choose who to champion them and take out the evil orange man? Then don’t get me started on his running mate . . . .
I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t make any sense of it.
I considered myself a Libertarian for about 10 years. That still probably best suits my temperament, but my mind knows that system is not a tenable solution to governance. The world is too complex and corrupt to function without significant regulation and government intervention. Bill Clinton proved that when he deregulated the banking industry in 1999, repealing the 1933 Glass–Steagall Legislation. The act deregulated the banking industry, paving the way for what became the mortgage lending crisis and subsequent financial collapse of 2008. Taking away rules is what Libertarianism is all about. It’s also what old fashioned classic “liberalism” used to be about (hint, the Democratic party is no longer liberal, it is mostly progressive, and that is a very important difference).
I say all of that to say this, I just can’t believe what is going on. Recently I was made aware of a major announcement from the Donald Trump campaign for reelection posted to his account on his new social media company “Truth” social. I didn’t vote for Donald Trump (and I won’t again), but when a former president who is running for reelection has a major announcement, that warrants your attention.
And what was the major announcement?
When I first heard this reported on the news I thought it must be another Democratic psy-op like Russiagate (which I never believed, I also never believed in Trump’s “birthergate” conspiracy about Obama – these are just stupid stories people use to enflame the masses). But this story took the cake, there was no way anyone was going to believe the Trump campaign was selling digital trading cards with Donald Trump posing as a superhero character for $99. This had to be some kind of spin, taking something real out of context in order to make Trump look bad like the opposition does so well.
So I decided to get on Truth social, make an account, and see for myself. Here is what I found.
My mind was going tilt. My synapses were firing rapid fire trying to compute what I was seeing. I know Donald Trump is a narcissist, most highly successful and popular people are, but is he this stupid?
He can’t be, he graduated from a premiere university, he’s been too successful in business in the most competitive and sophisticated city in the world, and he’s created and produced an extremely successful reality television show that lasted several seasons. He can’t possibly be possessed of that poor taste and that out of touch can he?
Maybe its his campaign staff. He’s running low on money and can’t afford quality people. They are the ones who are stupid maybe? But campaign staff tend to be young people who will work for nothing because they are hungry for advancement and highly ambitious, and young people are super sophisticated at social media. Way to sophisticated for this embarrassing, tasteless rubbish.
C’mon . . . multiple pieces of the outfits from the cards were stolen from online shopping sites like amazon.com without citing any photo credit. Seriously. Can they possibly be that incompetent and unsophisticated? But Trump spent his entire life in the upper echelons of fashion and advertising in NYC. I just can’t think that’s true. It doesn’t add up.
Then I came across another story. These embarrassingly unsophisticated “digital trading cards” sold out, 25,000 transactions, in 12 hours at $99 each. That’s $2.5 million dollars in sales, no overhead, in just 12 hours!
Now you might say, well that’s just a brilliant campaign fundraising strategy, digital trading cards cost nothing to produce, there’s no inventory, its pure profit! That’s genius actually!
Here’s the problem with that interpretation. If its just voters finding a creative way to give money to the Trump/Republican campaign, how do you explain this. . . .
If someone resold the “digital trading card” just a few days later, they sold it for what is equivalent to a whopping $638 each. That money didn’t go to the Trump campaign. Someone paid $638 for these corny cards because they actually wanted to own it on their computer.
Then it hit me. They’re not stupid, this reflects what campaign strategists think of us, the voting public.
They think we’re stupid. And childish. Especially those of us in the “flyover states”. By the looks of it, they might be right.
But then still yet another thought hit me. A much more sinister and devious thought. Maybe its none of the above. Maybe, just maybe - they are intentionally trying to make our country look stupid. Starting with the candidates they are selecting to lead us, on both sides of the political aisle. Now if that is the goal, they are crushing it.
Maybe they intend to make patriotism in general, or “nationalism”, or “populism”, or “American Exceptionalism”, and every fool who still believes in those relics of the past look childish and backward for refusing to get with it and embrace the future. The “new normal”. Globalism.
Maybe sinister forces in the unseen world are orchestrating it, maybe God is allowing it for His own purposes.
Maybe this is just about certain parts of our country being softened up to let go of the past (and other parts of the country along with it), a past that is being mocked right in front of our faces in order to help us lay hold of a new and better future they have had planned for a very long time.
Who is they? Stay tuned. But the real players aren’t the characters discussed in these articles. They are the characters in the unseen realm.
For now, that interpretation is the only thing that makes any sense to me.
In closing, as we walk through this series of articles together, keep in mind the entire series is motivated by the Maranatha cry, “Come, Lord Jesus!” This cry is not only motivated by the hope of the one who is to come, but also by an exasperation over the satanic blight growing on the nations of the earth that we the church are called to resist.
Globalism is both God’s plan, and it is Satan’s plan. It is God’s plan to centralize global power into the hands of his chosen man, Jesus Christ. It is also Satan’s plan for his chosen man, antichrist. Satan cannot create a better plan, he can only imitate and impersonate God’s original plan, and he has been at it since the beginning:
At the tower of Babel under a leader named Nimrod where the world first sought an unholy unity. (Genesis 10-11)
Under Alexander the great who’s dream was “one of the supreme revolutions in the world’s outlook’, namely ‘the brotherhood of man or the unity of mankind’”
It was a dream of the great thinkers in ancient Greece called “Cosmopolitanism”, which means “citizen of the world”. “The nebulous core shared by all cosmopolitan views is the idea that all human beings, regardless of their political affiliation, are (or can and should be) citizens in a single community.”
And it has been a clearly articulated and documented dream of shadowy architects of our own country through organizations like the Fabian society, since the turn of the 20th century.
And according to Revelation 13, it will be the plan of the yet future harlot Babylon, antichrist empire.
In order to bring the United States, along with other countries, into this dream - national pride, national allegiance, national unity, and yes, even family values and unity . . . must be destroyed.
